Daniel Kwong is Fortinet’s Field Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for South East Asia and the Hong Kong region. He has two decades of hands-on experience in ICT management and implementation, and his knowledge covers a wide spectrum of IT proficiencies, including cybersecurity, compliance, application development, data science, and cloud-native IT design.

At Fortinet, Daniel focuses on growing strategic partnerships. He serves as a strategic consultant to C-Level leaders of customer organisations and assists with cybersecurity solution implementation, product development, and innovation that is based on evolving requirements.

Prior to joining Fortinet, Daniel was at CITIC Telecom CPC for over 10 years, where he held various leadership roles – with the latest being Chief Information and Innovation Officer, and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer. Daniel was instrumental in building the company’s security and cloud client services, and developed their High-Performance Computing (HPC) Data Science platform. He also led an all-employee team to win the Data Science Award in AI algorithm design and computer vision in the areas of cybersecurity detection, supply-chain management, and logistic optimisation.

Daniel is based in Hong Kong, having graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He holds two Masters of Science degrees from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Engineering Research and Information Technology. Daniel is a co-author of two published papers on inter-cloud technology and has two patents related to telecommunications services and systems, with one patent pending.
