Daniel Kwong is Fortinet’s Field Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for South East Asia and the Hong Kong region. With two decades of hands-on experience in ICT management and implementation, Kwong’s knowledge covers a wide range of IT cybersecurity, compliance, application development, data science, and cloud-native IT design.

At Fortinet, Kwong is focused on growing strategic partnerships and serves as a strategic consultant to C-Level leaders of customer organizations to assist with cybersecurity solution implementation, product development, and innovation based on evolving requirements.

Prior to joining Fortinet, Kwong was at CITIC Telecom CPC for over 10 years and held various leadership roles, with the latest as Chief Information and Innovation Officer, and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer. Kwong was instrumental in building the Security and Cloud client services and developed the High-Performance Computing (HPC) Data Science platform. He also led an all-employee team to win the Data Science Award in AI algorithm design and computer vision in the area of cybersecurity detection, supply-chain management, and logistic optimization.

Kwong is based in Hong Kong and graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He holds two Masters of Science from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Engineering Research and Information Technology. Kwong is a co-author of two published papers on inter-cloud technology and has two patents related to telecommunications services and systems, with one patent pending.
