Artificial Intelligence (AI) based malware has been the forbidden fruit threat actors have been trying to achieve. Theoretically, AI-based malware could target specific individuals, organizations, races, and business functions in a stealth-like manner causing irrecoverable harm to organizations and individuals. Imagine malware learning who you are by examining your data patterns, social networking interactions, and physical attributes and designing an attack specifically for you. AI attacks sound like a bad plot from a movie, but could it be possible?
This talk will review the evolution of malware leveraging automation and machine learning finding vulnerabilities and exploiting systems. We will than look at the possible evolution of next-generation AI-based malware, why it could much more vicious and destructive on a scale never imagined. Lastly, we will discuss how R&D teams are preparing for these types of attacks.
