A classic parkland course located in the heart of Kanata, just minutes from Highway 417 and the nation's capital, Kanata Golf and Country Club offers a peaceful escape for urban golfers.
Opened originally in 1968, the course was completely redesigned by renowned architect Tom McBroom in 1990. The strategically placed mature trees, rolling mounds and large bunkers set the tone for the course, while its small-to-medium sized tricky greens place a premium on shot selection and ball control.
Known as one of the best-maintained courses in the Ottawa area, Kanata Golf and Country Club played host to the 2001 Nations' Cup, featuring teams of the best female pros from Canada, the U.S. and Sweden. In fact, it was on the short but difficult par-3, 16th hole, considered one of the most challenging in the region, that proved critical during Lorie Kane’s match against Annika Sorenstam.
