Deploying Security Strategies for the Modern Network

2/17/25 Workshop: Deploying Security Strategies for the Modern Network

Today’s networks are highly complex environments with borders that are constantly changing, and the volume of attacks puts further pressure on the IT and security teams to protect their organizations . In response to this highly complex environment, firewalls have become robust multi- functional devices that counter an array of threats to your network . As security architects consider how to provide comprehensive threat protection for their enterprises, including intrusion prevention, web filtering, anti-malware, and application control, security architects face a major complexity hurdle managing these point products with no integration and lack of visibility .

In this workshop, participants learn how Fortinet’s unified operating system streamlines network security across multiple use cases. FortiGate integrates various security products through NGFW features, using specialized processors (SPUs) and FortiGuard Labs threat intelligence for high- performance protection, including secure, automated visibility into cloud applications and IoT devices. The Fortinet Security Fabric offers centralized management
and a comprehensive view of the network, automatically mapping the entire topology and defending against known and unknown threats through automated responses.

Participants who attend this workshop will learn how to:

  •  Configure basic FortiGate settings for routing, firewall policies, and security profiles
  • Setup a Fortinet Security Fabric with centralized logging, visibility, and automation
  • Segment and secure the network with ISFW, ZTNA, and ADVPN for optimized remote access and WAN usage
