Julie Ellis is the Vice President GRC, International & Security Architecture for Starbucks Coffee Company. Julie leads the unification of GRC functions, streamlining our security services globally, as well as working with Security Architecture around our assessment and engagement efforts. Julie also focuses on our international work in China, Japan, and Asia Pacific ensuring alignment with the global security strategy.

Prior to this role, Julie was the Vice President Information Security Architecture & Engineering for the Walt Disney Company. Julie spent 15 years at Disney building strong relationships effectively matching technology to use cases and delivering solutions across the company. Julie and her team evaluated solutions, services, technology, and architectures to make recommendations that help technology and business leaders improve their ability to manage risk across the enterprise. She also held the position of Director Enterprise Business Intelligence, where she was responsible for the strategic direction and integration of BI tools across the enterprise to ensure users across all segments, and at all levels of the organization had the right tools to access and understand the data to support business decisions. Earlier in her career at Disney, Julie was the Director Consumer Data Analytics and Director, Business Partners Relations, Media Networks.

Julie has also held technology leadership roles at Point B and Accenture.

Juile holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Diploma in Baking & Pastry from the Art Institute. Julie lives in Seattle, WA and enjoys spinning, paddle boarding, family game night, and travel.
