Jeff Jennings has over 25 years of experience working with SLED sectors; K-12 education and higher education, and state and local government. Jeff’s role at Fortinet allows him to leverage his extensive experience in the public sector to help organizations understand proactive steps they can take to help keep their networks, data, employees, students and citizens safe from cyber threats. Jeff understands the unique challenges and requirements the public sector faces, and is dedicated to helping organizations navigate the cybersecurity landscape.
Jeff has dedicated 22 years of his career to gaining expertise in the FCC E-rate program, as well as other federal programs, and sharing that knowledge with organizations that need help navigating these complex programs. He has served in a consulting capacity across federal, state, county and city governments. His background also includes state, multi-state and federal contracts and compliance regulations. He has had the opportunity to work on projects including ARRA-Rural Broadband Grant writing, city and county digital transformation projects including delivering a comprehensive fiber/broadband service in coordination with local anchor institutions such as public safety, hospitals, county agencies and JPAs.
Jeff’s extensive E-rate experience has allowed him to consult with more than 250 schools. He’s also engaged with more than 200 manufacturers and resellers participating in programs such as Rural Broadband, USDA-BTOP, FCC RHC and E-rate programs. With a strong record of consultative service to local and state districts and education agencies ranging from small to very large agencies and school districts, Jeff has been able to help hundreds of organizations with the strategic planning, and RFP creation and response that enables the digital transformation in SLED.
