Michael Xie
Michael Xie
CTO

Michael Xie has dedicated his career to the network security industry. For two decades, he has been relentlessly driving innovations at Fortinet, in areas of technology, products and services. He was honored with the 2009 Tech Innovator Awards by Everything Channel's CRN. He was also named a 2006 Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young and a Top Technology Innovator by VARBusiness Magazine in 2004. Michael has an M.S. degree in electrical & computer engineering from the University of Manitoba as well as M.S. degrees in automobile engineering from Tsinghua University.



John Maddison
John Maddison
Chief Marketing Officer and EVP of Products and Solutions

John Maddison has more than 30 years of executive management experience in the Cybersecurity and Telecommunications industries. He joined Fortinet in 2012 to lead Cloud/SaaS Security development teams and is now the Chief Marketing Officer and EVP of Products. He previously held executive leadership positions at Trend Micro where he focused on advanced threat research and cloud delivery security services. He started his career with Lucent Technologies Mobile Division, Hewlett Packard Software and Cable & Wireless Global Networking. John holds a B.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Plymouth University, United Kingdom.



Phil Quade

Chief Information Security Officer
Phil brings more than three decades of cybersecurity and networking experience working across foreign, government, and commercial industry sectors at the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Senate. Phil has responsibility for Fortinet's information security, leads strategy and expansion of Fortinet's Federal and Critical Infrastructure business, and serves as a strategic consultant to Fortinet's C-Level enterprise customers. Prior to Fortinet, Phil was the NSA Director's Special Assistant for Cyber and Chief of the NSA Cyber Task Force, with responsibility for the White House relationship in Cyber. Previously, Phil also served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Information Assurance Directorate at the NSA, managing day-to-day operations, strategy, and relationships in cybersecurity. He held a variety of roles earlier in his tenure at the NSA, including head of the Information Operations Technology Center's Advanced Technology Group, professional staffer to the U.S. Senate, and in the Office of the Director for National Intelligence.

Patrice Perche has more than 20 years of experience in the IT security industry. Patrice is responsible for managing Fortinet's international sales and support operations worldwide. He has been with Fortinet since 2004, leveraging his extensive experience in successfully penetrating and growing new territories, recruiting and nurturing a value-add channel partners network, and accelerating the company's footprint in the enterprise market.
Prior to joining Fortinet, he was co-founder and CEO of Risc Group, a French-based company focusing on IT Security with pan-European operations.
Patrice graduated from Insa Lyon and holds a master’s degree in computer engineering.

Filippo Cassini joined Fortinet in 2003 and has 20 years of experience in the telecommunications, IT and security industries. He leads the Presales Consultants team which engages with Fortinet's top Telco customers around the world.

Before becoming Fortinet’s Vice President of Worldwide Consulting Systems Engineering, Filippo held positions as Security Products System Engineer at Exclusive Networks, a pan-european security products distributor, and also worked as LINUX security consultant and engineer. Filippo holds an engineering degree.



Derek Manky

Global VP Threat Intelligence
Derek Manky leads FortiGuard Labs’ Global Threat Intelligence Team at Fortinet, bringing over 25 years of cyber security experience. For more than 15 years he has been highly engaged in building public/private partnerships, including the World Economic Forum Partnership Agaist Cybercrime (PAC), INTERPOL Gateway, the Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA), Cybercrime Atlas, Cybercrime Bounty, FIRST.org, and MITRE Center for Threat Informed Defense. These initiatives are highly focused on cybercrime disruption.

Manky sits on the board of the CTA and has been with the alliance since it was founded in May 2014. He also sits on the WEF Centre for Cybersecurity (C4C) advisory board, and on the executive committee of the Cybercrime Atlas Initiative. Manky has established frameworks in the security industry including responsible vulnerability disclosure, which has exercised the responsible reporting of over 1000 zero-day vulnerabilities.

His vision is applied to help shape the future of proactive cyber security, with the ultimate goal to make a positive impact towards the global war on cybercrime and threat actors.

Christiane Ohlgart

Christiane Ohlgart has more than three decades of finance and accounting experience at software and technology companies. Most recently, Ms. Ohlgart served as Chief Financial Officer at IGEL Technology, a secure access operating system developer. Prior to IGEL, she served as VP Finance at Fortinet. Ms. Ohlgart also previously served as SVP Finance and Treasurer at Syapse, Inc., a digital health company, and as VP Finance of Intermedia.net, Inc., a cloud-based communication platform. Before that, Ms. Ohlgart worked at SAP, an enterprise software and services company, for 18 years, in various roles in Germany and the U.S. The last position held there was Chief Financial Officer at SAP SuccessFactors, a global provider of cloud-based human experience management software. Ms. Ohlgart holds a master’s degree in computer science and business administration from the Technical University of Karlsruhe.



Carl Windsor

Carl Windsor has helped drive product security and strategy at Fortinet for over 18 years. He has held roles in the CTO office, system engineering, sales, and product management, leading SD-WAN and SASE product strategy and has also been instrumental in driving product security. As CISO, he is responsible for maintaining the enterprise vision and strategy for security compliance and governance, and the program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. Prior to working at Fortinet, Carl was Chief Technical Architect responsible for managed security service strategy with a focus on networking and security services at European Datacenter company, TeleCity (now Equinix). Carl holds a Ph.D. in computational chemistry and quantum mechanics from the University of Manchester and a B.S. in computational chemistry from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
