Head of Cyber Policy and Global Field Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Fortinet

With nearly 40 years of experience driving innovation in cybersecurity and threat intelligence, Jim helps governments and companies take actionable steps to improve their cybersecurity.

Before joining Fortinet, Jim served as the National Intelligence Manager for Cyber, the senior federal executive within the United States Intelligence Community (IC), overseeing cyber intelligence across 17 departments and agencies. In this role, he led the implementation of cyber strategy for the IC, set integrated priorities on cyber threats, served as the senior cyber advisor to two Directors of National Intelligence and oversaw the implementation of a multi-year Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative for Presidents Bush and Obama. Prior to this, Jim worked for 20 years at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
