Workshop: Secure Networking

The Secure Networking Workshop is a focused, two-hour, in-person session built for engineers, administrators, and technicians. Attendees will learn about the Fortinet Secure Networking solution and complete hands-on labs with live equipment. No prior Fortinet experience is required.

Attendees who are new to the platform will see firsthand how the unified approach simplifies wired and wireless deployments, while those already familiar with FortiSwitch and FortiAP can opt into advanced modules to extend their skills further.

Participants who attend this workshop will learn how to:

• Onboard a FortiSwitch and a FortiAP to a FortiGate using FortiLink, and manage both from a single GUI.
• Build voice, data, and AP-management VLANs, and apply FortiGate firewall policies to control inter-VLAN and Internet traffic.
• Deploy tunneled and bridged SSIDs side by side, including PSK (tunneled and bridged), an open captive portal, and 802.1X with local EAP.
• Read switch and AP status, port assignments, and client connectivity from the unified Wi-Fi & Switch Controller view.
• Leverage the included FortiLink NAC to automate VLAN assignment, otherwise known as the world’s simplest NAC.
